The EduGrow program has grown in 2015
EduGrow now includes an expanded awards program, a new website and special events by request involving remote, rural and regional schools. The program aims to encourage, support and recognise the wonderful efforts of students, teachers and school communities who create safe, engaging food gardens and outdoor learning places and activities in them.
We now have an EduGrow Website up and running. Please visit www.edugrow.com.au for information, news and updates.
History of EduGrow
The inspiration for the EduGrow School Garden Awards kicked off in 2010 at the Darwin Region CDEP Workshop.
RIG Network followed up with a strategic workshop for top end NT school stakeholders in 2011.
In 2012 RIG Network partnered with ALPA, EduGrow’s Founding Sponsor Partner, to hold the ALPA 40th Anniversary EduGrow School Garden Awards that were open to ALPA’s five member communities.
In 2013 the Awards grew, were supported by new sponsors such as the Jimmy Little Foundation, Traditional Credit Union and Nutrition Plus, and were open to more than 20 schools in Arnhem Land. 12 registered. 8 completed. Great job!
In 2014 we built upon these achievements and celebrated the 2014 theme of Food, Family, Community with your school and community.
