2016 March 31

From Roxanne at NSW Dept Industry:

Hi All, We have put together a project to assist Aboriginal land owners in exploring the potential of growing Bush foods on their property
the project has 2 stages commencing with Workshops across the State;
  • Northern Rivers 2 May 2016
  • Hunter June 2016
  • Dubbo June 2016
After the workshops we will be providing some 1:1 mentoring to chosen organisation that are keen and ready to implement a project. this will include assisting with developing a quick plan and possible soil tests, linking in with support organisations , a site visit, and telephone/skype mentoring. We are also hoping that Aboriginal learning Circle will be providing a back to base Certificate in Horticulture to supplement and provide formal qualifications as part of the overall project. Indigenous Land Corporation have been briefed about the project and we are hoping they may make some or all of the workshops and they are interested in possibly supporting the projects through the Our Land Our Future program.
We are now advertising for people in the Northern Rivers region to participate in the workshop on the 2nd May 2016. The workshops is free and I would encourage people to register quickly as spaces may fill and are limited due to the “field trip” nature
To register people can use the eventbrite site I have put up
or if they have trouble with technology get them to give me a call
