Watch Us Grow

Attention aspiring and existing primary school gardeners of the Top End! Would you like to build a garden at your school, or do you have a school garden already but need to inject some enthusiasm and energy into the project?  At 105.7 ABC Darwin we want to help get you going to build your own community garden over term two.

All preschools and primary schools in the Top End are invited to register to build a garden, and ABC Darwin will help you on your way.

When you register, you’ll receive a starter pack for your class.

105.7 ABC Darwin will follow schools’ progress, and schools will need to email us weekly updates on how the garden is going. At the end of the campaign we’ll choose a lucky winning school, which will receive a special visit from ABCTV’s Gardening Australia presenter Leonie Norrington and the 105.7 ABC Darwin team to give your class lots of good gardening advice.

The winning school will also receive tickets for the entire class to attend the Royal Darwin Show from 21 to 23 July. The winning school will be the one that makes the best progress and shows us how much they’ve learned during the campaign.

Schools that already have a garden are eligible to enter and win.

Schools must agree to have consent forms filled out for each participating student. Download a consent form here.

The deadline to register is Friday 1 April.
